New PV install on door manufacturing site 474kW
New PV install on door manufacturing site 474kW
Myriad have recently completed a new installation on the roof of a door manufacturing site in the West Midlands. UK manufacturers often have huge electricity bills which means all, or nearly all the solar electricity generated will be used on site, which is the most cost effective way.
This site is in the West Midlands and will use over 95% of all the power generated from the 474kW system. The roof has muiltiple skylights which the client wanted to retain to maximise natural light in the building which complicates the install from a H&S perspective but this can be acheived using skylight fall arrest system.
Project Details
- Door manufacturer in the West Midlands
- 474 kWp (Trina 450W panels / 5x Solis-100k-5G)
- Export limitation - none
- Roof mounted (metal trap)
- Estimated generation; 460,000 kWh per year.
- Estimated pay back; 2.8 years
The Rise of Solar PV in UK Manufacturing: A Green Revolution
In recent years, there has been a significant rise in the use of solar photovoltaic (PV) technology in UK manufacturing. This has been driven by a growing awareness of the need to reduce carbon emissions and the rising costs of electricity. Solar PV systems offer a sustainable and cost-effective solution to these challenges, making them a popular choice for manufacturers across the country.
