Project Solution

The customer owns a larger country house in Suffolk and has a vineyard. Myriad already maintain his biomass boiler and the customer want to further reduce his energy costs and enhance his green credentials, by having solar PV and battery storage.

Myriad reviewed his electrical consumption and recommended a 40kW PV system with 34.38kWh of battery storage to reduce his night-time energy consumption from the grid.

The house itself did not have sufficient roof space for the PV system, so we looked at a ground array, however due to tree preservation orders we were restricted as to where the PV system could go and we could not penetrate the ground. The simple solution to this problem was to install the 40kWp ground mount system using Renusol Console+ tubs.

System Description

Myriad undertook the DNO application process. As with all ground arrays over 10m2 full planning approval was required. Myriad also undertook the planning application process and successful achieved the required consents.

We installed 85 x 470w JA Solar modules on Renusol Console+ tubs connected to the 3-phase electrics in the property.

The customer had expressed interest in increasing the size of battery storage in the future, so Myriad recommended the Alpha Storion T30 battery storage system, which is AC coupled and will therefor allow additional battery modules to be added if required.
