Commercial Biomass - Multiple Poultry Sheds

Commercial Biomass - Multiple Poultry Sheds

Details

Part of a £24.5 million development, the project was worth over £4 million to Myriad Heat and Power and follows more than 12 months of careful planning with renewable financers Lumicity. Now the Herz Firematics' have been installed into more than 21 of the turkey group’s farm sites.

Lumicity put together a specialist consortium to deliver what is thought to be the biggest roll-out of biomass in the UK ever. Specialist contractors included Armstrong, Baxi Commercial and PPS.

Myriad Heat and Power installed the Herz boilers into packaged plant rooms constructed by Armstrong of Baxi/PPS.

The 179 x 150kW or 199kW Firematics were housed in purpose-built, prefabricated containers. Doing this reduced any disruption on site, allowing the turkey farms to continue operating normally. Each site has an average of eight or nine poultry sheds, with the largest having 34.
