Client Needs

The client runs a family owned fencing contractor business.

The business has high energy costs that have seen a large increase over the last few years.

In order to reduce their electricity bills and to improve their sustainability credentials, the client decided to look into solar and because the business owner was already Myriad biomass customer, he obviously looked to us for a solar solution as well.

However the client wanted to maximise the amount of solar on the roof in order export additional generation that they didn’t use on site, in order provide an additional revenue stream.

Challenges

Due to the proximity of the site to a major railway line, we had to work closely with Network Rail to come up with a system design that kept scaffold and works a designated distance from the tracks. We continued to liaise with Network Rail on behalf of the client throughout the delivery of the project.

Project Solution

Myriad provided a very competitive Solar PV quotation. We analysed the client’s electricity usage data and designed the solar system using PVSOL to calculate the optimum system size.

We then provided the client with a ‘max-fit’ solution I.E. filling the roof

Myriad undertook the DNO application, PDR application and arranged for the structural survey to be done.

The DNO offer from UKPN works included 69kW export limitation.

We installed Tier 1 Hanwha QCELLS 510w modules, Solis-100k-5G-PRO inverter with the Solis Export Power Manager.
