A well-established garden centre in the South of England required a roof-mounted solar PV system to reduce rising electricity costs and improve environmental performance. With high daytime energy demand driven by retail operations, lighting, catering, and plant care systems, the site was well suited to on-site renewable generation.
Myriad designed and delivered a 365 kWp commercial solar PV system, optimised to maximise available roof space while delivering strong annual energy yield and long-term carbon savings.

The Client & Requirements The client required a solar PV system to reduce rising electricity costs across the garden centre while supporting long-term sustainability objectives. With high daytime energy demand driven by retail operations, lighting, catering, and plant care systems, the site presented an ideal load profile for solar generation. A key requirement was to maximise the use of available roof space while carefully working around existing constraints such as skylights. The client also required a fully turnkey solution, delivered by a trusted provider capable of managing the entire process from design through to installation with minimal disruption to trading.
Key Challenges The project was delivered across multiple roof areas, requiring a coordinated design approach to integrate separate sections into a single, unified solar PV system. Ensuring consistent performance and efficient electrical distribution across these areas was a key consideration. As the site remained fully operational throughout, installation works had to be carefully planned to avoid disruption to customers and staff. Maintaining safe access, managing deliveries, and sequencing installation across different roof sections were essential to ensure smooth project delivery. Additional challenges included optimising panel layout around roof obstructions such as skylights, while still maximising overall system capacity.
